Description
Regular meeting (Delp absent). The council approved Resolution 94-6 authorizing the purchase of real property, and after a public hearing with no objections adopted Ordinance 48 vacating another portion of North Street, with the three readings waived. Keith Hoskinson was hired to fell the tree on the Zimmerle property for $250, and the City Clerk/Treasurer's pay was raised to $10.00 an hour. Bills include refunds to Stinky's Bar and Grill for cigarette and liquor licenses (under owners Swank and Ahrens) and a water deposit, IRS penalty and interest for the third quarter of 1986, Greene County recording and property tax charges, and University of Iowa schooling for the water superintendent. Minutes of the regular council meeting October 19, 1994
The council met in regular session with Mayor Pedersen presiding and Council members present: Pedersen, Hurley, Hillman, Paulson. Absent: Delp.
The minutes of the regular council meeting September 21, 1994 were read and approved.
Motion by Hillman second by Pedersen to approve Resolution 94-6,A Resolution authorizing purchase of real property. Ayes: Paulson, Hillman, Hurley, pedersen. Nayes: none. ABsent: Delp. Motion carried.
Council Member Paulson introduced and caused to be read Ordinance 48, an Ordinance vacating a portion of North street.
Council Member Hurley moves that the rule requiring Ordinances to be read on three separate days be wavied and that Ordinance Number 48 be placed upon final adoption at this time. Said motion was second by Council Member Hillman.
Upon roll call the following voted Aye: Hillman, Paulson, Hurley, Pedersen. Nayes: none. Absent: Delp.
There upon Council Member Pedersen moved that Ordinance 48 be adopted. The motion was second by Paulson. Upon roll call the following voted aye: Paulson, Pedersen, Hillman, Hurley. Nayes: none. Absent: Delp.
There upon Mayor Pedersen declared Ordinance No. 48 adopted.
Motion by Pedersen second by Hurley to hire Keith Hoskinson to fall the tree on the Zimmerle property for $250.00. Motion carried.
A Public Hearing was held on vacating a portion of North street. No written objections were received or oral objectios heard to vacating a portion of North street.
Motion by Hurley second by Pedersen to pay the present City Clerk/Treasurer $10.00 an hour. Ayes: Pedersen, Paulson, Hurley, Hillman. Motion carried.
Nuisances were discussed.
Motion by Hillman second by Hurley to approve the following bills and all bills due prior to the next regular council meeting. M.C.
