Special session called by Mayor Rowles; G. E. Meredith is sworn in as clerk. The agenda: a dumping ground, the street in front of A. D. McGregor's premises, enforcing the ordinance on poultry at large, and speed signs. The Street Commissioner is to secure a dumping ground. An 8-inch tile is ordered from east of Wm. Dana's gate. The Mayor is to have arrows printed or painted on the town's speed limit signs, an early reference to traffic signs.

Dana Iowa April 11 1916
Town council met in special session at the call of the mayor. Mayor H W Rowles in chair, Councilmen present; McGregor, L B Jones, Grivey [?] Johnson and H M Jones.
Minutes of previous meeting read & corrected by striking out the words "to meet at 7:30 on the first Monday night in May." G E Meredith was sworn in as town clerk.
Mayor stated that the following was to be considered at this meeting
1st matter of securing a dumping ground
2nd the condition of the street in front of A D McGregor's premises
3rd inforcement of ordinances relative to poultry running at large.
4th making the speed signs legal
It was decided that the street commissioner should secure a dumping ground and if there be any charges to take the matter up with finance committee
Moved by Grivey [?], seconded by McGregor that the Street and alley committee be instructed to have an 8 inch tile laid from the tile East of Wm Dana's gate across the road South and then West, to connect with 10 inch now in. Motion Carried
Moved by L B Jones, seconded by Johnson that the mayor have arrows printed or painted on the speed limit signs

Moved by McGregor seconded by Johnson that we adjourn. Motion Carried
