UNAPPROVED MINUTES OF THE JUNE 19, 1991 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
The council met in regular session with Mayor Pedersen presiding and all
council members present.The minutes of the May 17, 1991 regular council
meeting were read and approved.
Generally agreed to join with the other cities of the countyf or the State mandated recycle .ing.
Motion by Hillman second by Border to hire Reese Construction to fix the
storm sewer intake next to Juhl Feed and at the corner next to Jack Hurley.
Motion Carried.
Motion by Hurley second by Hadley to require a $50.00 deposit for new water
customers. Deposit to be returned after six months if the water bill was
kept current.Effective August 15, 1991, when past due water bills reach the
sum of $50.00 the water will be shut off. Then the complete water bill must
be paid plus a $50.00 turn on fee. Ayes: Hurley, Hillman, Border, Pedersen,
Hadley.Motion Carried.
Sealcoating was discussed.
Motion by Border second by Pedersen to pay the following bills and all
bills due prior to the next regular council meeting. Motion Carried.
GENERAL FUND: Iowa Electric, service, 42.80; George Brabbs, wages, 85.32,
telephone calls, 9.32; General Telephone Co., fire and Community Center calls,
76.67; Thompson Construction, removal of steeple. 1762.36; League of Iowa Municipalities
membership, 134.00; Idea Press, supplies, 31.98; Copeland Insurance Agency
Inc.,3278.00; Jer:: Pedersen, mowing, 57.38.
ROAD USE TAX FUND: Virgil Pedersen, mower battery, 34.99; Iowa Electric,
service, 137.29; Springer Agri Center, mower repairs, 30.40.
WATER FUND: Iowa Electric, service, 48.75; General Electric Corp. ,Interest
and prinicpal on loan, 3588.00; George Brabbs, wages, 85.23; Dan Acton,
wages, telephone calls, mifeage, postage, 142.87; Mangold Environmental
Testing, testing water, 180.00.
RECEIPTS FUNDS: GENERAL FUND:from Dana Community Center Bingo to be applied
to removal of the steeple, 1000.00.
ROAD USE TAX FUND: 880.53.
WATER REVENUE FUND: 900.13.
BINGO ACCOUNT FUND: 438.00.
Next regular council meeting July 17, 1991 in the Community Center at
7:00 p.m...
