Description
The assessor's 1912 roll of the 40 Dana men liable to militia duty (by Iowa law, able-bodied men 18 to 45), with each man's age; all list Dana as post office. Useful for genealogy because it gives ages, e.g. future councilmen G. D. Johnson (27) and Melvin Collins (39), and the clerk's relative Joe De Boest (19). A second, sideways photograph of the same page (IMG_3935) was not uploaded. Found loose with the Dana Council minutes book (record book of 1912 onward) at City Hall.
