Description
Proposed resolution to vacate and offer for sale the part of Dana Street abutting the west side of Block 4, Original Town, and the east-west alley between Lots 10 and 11 of that block. It sets a hearing at the City Hall on May 23, 1988, the same date it was passed. In place of a newspaper, the blank for publishing notice is filled in by hand with the Post Office, Dana Tap and what appears to be Eldon Juhl's. PROPOSED RESOLUTION
TO VACATE AND TO SELL REAL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the City of Dana, Iowa, presently owns real property described as:
That portion of Dana Street in Dana, Iowa, abutting and on the West side of Block Four (4) Original Town of Dana, Iowa, and also
That portion of the Alley running East and West in Block Four (4), Original Town of Dana, Iowa, between and abutting Lots Ten (10) and Eleven (11) in said Block Four (4) Original Town
WHEREAS, a request has been filed with the City Council of the City of Dana, Iowa, that that portion of said street and [typed in above the line] alley be vacated and sold, and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes it would be beneficial to the City of Dana, Iowa, to vacate and sell said property, and
WHEREAS, Public Hearing should be held on this matter.
BE IT NOW THEREFORE PROPOSED to be Resolved by the City Council of the City of Dana, Iowa, as follows:
1. That the following described property owned by the City of Dana, Iowa, be vacated and offered for sale:
That portion of Dana Street in Dana, Iowa, abutting and on the West side of Block Four (4), Original Town of Dana, Iowa, and also
That portion of the Alley running East and West in Block Four (4), Original Town of Dana, Iowa, between and abutting Lots Ten (10) and Eleven (11) in said Block Four (4) Original Town
2. That a Public Hearing for the purpose of considering this proposal, including the proposal to vacate and offer for sale the above described property, shall be held at the regular meeting of the City Council on 5-23-88 [handwritten] at the City Hall in the City of Dana, Iowa. All persons interested in said proposal shall be given an opportunity to appear and express their views for or against said proposal.
3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish Notice of this proposal in the Post office, Dana Tap + Eldon Juhl's [handwritten; ?: last name hard to read], a legal newspaper having general circulation within the City of Dana, Iowa.
